History of The Christian Community in the Stroud area

The beginnings go back to Rev. Leo Baker who worked with the teachers of the newly found Wynstones Waldorf School in 1937, at Brookthorpe near Gloucester. Like all new congregations he worked with limited means which meant the services were celebrated in very humble settings (Bristol and Gloucester). Later, services were also held at the New Nursing Home at 69 Cainscross Road in Stroud (now Gannicox Camphill Community) until the current church spaces were built at number 73.
